I've got a box-set of Beatrix Potter mini-books that I used to love to look at the colorful pictures and read when I was 2 or 3.
For Christmas when I turned 5, my mom and dad got me the Compton's Encyclopædia - which turned out to be my favorite set of books growing up. Many fond memories of reading through the various volumes.

Hopefully, somebody here can help with the title of a children's book that scared the shit out of me as kid. If I actually learn the title of the book I may actual go buy it because it scared the fuck out of me as a kid.
It was a book about a "monster in a closet" and no it's not the same characters from "Monster's Inc." the animated film.
