Question cdj 800...just basic question

searched...nada

looking to buy this cd deck, and wanted to see what people thought about it. and no "ITS PIONEER, SO ITS GONNA BE GOOD" arguments. i'd like some technical aspects of it. is the pitch incriments on this .06??? can somebody go into detail about pitch incriments because im always confused. i figure the closer it is to 0, the better?

i currently have a dns-1000, to be honest, am not that happy with it. the jog wheel is just too crappy. if not the 800, should i just opt for a 200???

thanks for any input

about the resolution: the more zeros there are between the decimal and the actual digit (6 in this case) the better. the smalle the digit the better. .01 would be more desierable than .06 because .06 is closer to .1 =less fine tuning/more correcting will be necessary.

it means it has a higher resolution for finer adjustments. kind of like the difference between meters, centimeters, millimeters. if you are measureing something small, and want to be really acurate, you would probably use millimeters instead of centimeters.

cdj-800 = .05 with vinyl emulated platter
cdj-200 = .02 with jog wheel

sigh.. there was a thread with all this that got bumped off the main page a while ago

there's a lot of techinal info on this site (use search) or the pio website...

so unless you're asking for user friendly or opinions on using them...what are you asking?

from my exprience, dns 1000 not worth 2 cents...if you can buy the 800 go for them. not b/c they're pio, but b/c of the platter and control. if not go for the denon 5000 or 3500 (lot more expensive) but more things added.

Ummmm.... those look like 1000's to me... unless that's not you in your sig...

And dude, plenty of people play on decks that have .1 increments, it just means you're used to it, it doesn't actually mean you're any good at all...

...I kid... but that still doesn't change the fact that the proof is in the pudding, not in the technical specs of the shitty decks you choose to work on.
