188.9 for gas.

I'm sorry that I had to do this, but something is really amiss here.

Walking back to my buddy's place earlier here in Cambridge in our drunken convoy of people, we walked past an intersection with both Esso and Canadian Tire gas stations on it.

Both stations were priced at 188.9 per litre of 87 octane gasoline (regular).

One dollar, eighty-eight point nine cents per litre. This means instead of filling up for $51.xx at 98.x cents per litre, it'll now cost me almost $100 to fill my tank from empty. Colour me most unimpressed.

What. The. Fuck. The price doubled in 3 days. DOUBLED.

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to gingerly insert long knives into my eye sockets.

I've said this before, and I am going to say this again.

there's nothing we can do about it except bitch, bend over, grease up and hope the gas station will be gentle.

This fucking shit is RETARTED!!! a bump of nearly 100% in less than a week..daylight robbery! Yes I do believe in inflation, but this sure does put a whole new meaning to it.

There's a bright side to it tho, this will make it a lot more interesting for auto companies to make more fuel efficient vehicles/alternative fuel

Here in europe gas is like 2.5 CAD now =/

ontariogasprices.com and torontogasprices.com is showing 133.9... maybe in your drunken stupor you mistook 133 as 188?

That's not true, and that's exactly the kind of attitude that's getting us raped up the ass like this in the first place. Our government could EASILY solve this problem and return us to 70c gas prices, *IF* we gave them an incentive to. It's just that Canadians would RATHER take it up the ass than actually GET OFF their asses and do something about it.

And this applies even more to idiots who bike or take the bus and shrug their shoulders and say "oh well, doesn't apply to me, good thing I don't drive!" Price gouging on necessity products affects EVERYONE. First and foremost it's going to affect businesses which rely on trucks and transportation, which will bankrupt some businesses (if this keeps up) and drive prices up all over the market. It's only a matter of time before you have to pay more for nearly *everything*, and who knows, you might just end up getting laid off because your business can't afford to keep as many employees around with all the extra costs.
