For an example of how you'd be able to play every type of game (from sports, to FPS games, to racing games, puzzle, etc etc) check out IGN's article:

http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651224p1.html

They give you an excellent example of how each type of game would work.

Could be extremely awesome, or pathetically terrible, though I for some reason think its going to be the former. I cant wait to try it out.

Here's a teaser trailer for the Revolution controller:

Teaser trailer (17 mb, quicktime)

(if that doesn't work: here)

it looks totally awesome, I like the idea. As far as gaming concepts and design among these next-gen consoles, IMO the Revo takes the lead from now on, even though Nintendo isn't really trying to compete with ms and sony..

Looking more like XBox or PS3 for me. Sorry Nintendo, I'm not 8 years old anymore.

I'm not a fan of these new type of controller, It looks like a freaken remote, Though I read on some page that they are planning on making classic style controllers for the Revolution, I think these new type of controllers would suck when playing fighting games and such.

well they had a perfectly good explanation for the remote-like design of the controller...

and for fighting games:

Don't know if it's official though

I'm still not a fan of the whole wireless controller idea, Its an inconvenient having to go to the store to buy new batteries for the controller after they die out, Literally money out of your own pocket, And just for what, So you can play on the fucking controllers, Fuck that!

8 years old? Dude, get over yourself! The idea is such a bold step forward in how video games will be played. Everything from Madden, to racing games, and especially FPS games will play a lot better on this. Just use your imagination a little. Imagine whatever your favourite game might be, but add in the fact that you can control the camera or whatever by soft gestures with your wrist. Or how hitting a ball in a tennis game might work.

And the whole wireless thing is sweet! But just so you know, the Revolution will use standard, wired Gamecube controllers as well.

Also, that image is a mock-up, but something like that will be released, a "docking bay" of sorts for the remote.

I was just going to comment on that. Hopefully that idea goes through.

No, I'm not going to get over myself because I dictate what I like and dislike about video games. If I were 8 years old I would think this controller was awesome. When I used to play Super Mario I would stand up and jump every time Mario would jump. But now that I am almost 22 years old, I don't play video games like I used to. I come home from class and play a few games of NHL 06 to unwind. Or I play Madden or 007. I'm not jumping off the walls like I used to. If I want to get that animated I will exercise or play a sport. If I want to flick my wrist back and forth in a repetitive motion I will do that another way.

My point is that Nintendo isn't for me anymore. PS2 and Xbox put out lots of games that appealed to me that I couldn't play because they were not put out for Gamecube. I'm not going to get left behind again so I'm not even going to bother with the Revolution.
