Congrats on your Crackberry purchase
I just bought a new one myself last week.. but I have had one for the last 4 years and they are amazing!!!
As far as I know all programs are on a free trial for about 2 weeks to 30 days then you have to start to pay for them.. I haven't come across one yet that is free besides the AOL IM that you can use on your BB..

Make sure you get true unlimited data or you'll go broke trying to pay beyond the 25 MB that Rogers gives you on their "unlimited" plan (Rogers charges $7/mb beyond 25 mb).
Bell Mobility has true unlimited data ($60 CAD/month). Cingular has unlimited data with unlimited international roaming ($60 USD / month).

VeriChat for BlackBerry currently requires a BES server (except for Nextel and Telus devices), and requires that MDS be enabled for your account on your BES server. A version of VeriChat that will not require the BES server is currently being developed.

VeriChat is free for 30 days - then $4 / month.
ok.. that part I did not know about the $4/mth.. but I am with rogers so I only have a max of 25mb/mth as well so I could not use MSN/VeriChat.. not only that but I wouldn't get much work done I am sure so I may as well save myself the $4/mth and my job
Thanks for the info though RJ!

They certainly are the bomb Cale..
I just bought one unlocked from the UK.. it is the 7100v.. vodafone one.. it is sweet as heck!! So now I own two.. I can go back and forth between them which is kind of nice..
It is a lot of money to invest in though if you have the full plan on it like I do.. it comes out to about $120/mth with cell, email, text and internet.. but it is the most handy thing ever!
