DJ Tiesto @ Forum de Beyrouth Sat. 1st Oct. 2005 - Beirut, Lebanon

DJ TIESTO - Forum de Beyrouth - Sat. Oct. 1st 2005
----------------------------------------------------------

Maybe this will be one of the hardest party reports i'll ever have to write...
Anyway with one big effort, here's briefly the night's sights & sounds.

* VENUE: Forum was more beautiful than ever...Well decorated and partioned. Nothing really to say except that maybe a part of the VIP section should have been a little closer to Tiesto himself. The place was almost fully packed, a minimum of 12,000 persons but the ventilation system was poor. One can fully understand that it is hard to ventilate and manage a 11,000 m2 area fully packed, nevertheless more effort could have been done...

* LIGHTS+STAGE: A beautifully circular designed stage with curtains leading to backstage. Nice and smart. The lighting system... Well...Lasers whiping you from all direction and all colors... Really nothing to say...It would take hours describing what the eye could see...Amazing setup and breath-taking lighting.

* SOUND: Powerful sound system, quite efficient and well surrounded. One could comfortly enjoy the music wherever he was standing... Hence, one little downfall: bass sometimes was too strong and spoiled the overall sound quality. This was clear when Tiesto played "Athena". Still Tiesto noticed it and lowered the bass from time to time...

* MANAGEMENT - ORGANIZATION: Quite efficient.. Traffic at the door although heavy was running smoothly. At the bar queuing was acceptable taking into consideration the huge amount of people present. Nevertheless toilets were one major ruin in that event; although predictable, toilets looked like having "Katrina" (Hurrican) storming it a day earlier: agonizing smell, horrendous heat and flood of urine and all kind of solid waste. At around 3 it was impossible entering the restrooms without a surfing board. Disgusting and gruesome experience in order to visit it to simply release some liquild pressure. Some were urinating in the corners....Damn...

* MAIN ACT: DJ TIESTO: Nothing to say... Perfect euphoric set, maybe too euphoric loosing sometimes the beat.... Although one mixing error was noticed, the overall set was well managed, tracks carefully chosen and powerfully played. Tiesto was at his peak that night...Maybe one of his best performances...

* CROWD - INTERACTION: It was predictable that some "negative elements" would be present that night due to the very commercial facet of the gig and the big volume of people present. Still overall, the crowd was wonderful. Energetic, vigorous, active, bouncing and brisk crowd that set Tiesto himself on fire... Non-stopping dancing from the warmup set until the end, people were terribly excited and were continously asking for more...

* CONCLUSION: All in all, maybe of the best event ever held in Lebanon's clubbing history, maybe the BEST one. Surprisignly no ambushes occured and a powerful good mood was constantly reigning the atmosphere. A memorable night which despite the few annoying details remains unforgettable.

Regards
