Is Nominee John Roberts the Iran-Contra Godfather?

Funny how we may never know - seems those darn documents just won't be given up by our Administration. Wonder why that is? What's in those darn documents that were "misplaced" or concealed by this Administration at the Reagan Library?

Maybe this is one:

quote:
In other instances, archivists are keeping documents on controversial issues of the 1980s -- or portions of those documents -- secret, for reasons that are not self-explanatory.

One file withheld, regarding the Iran- contra affair, was a draft memo from Roberts to his bosses with the heading "re: establishment of NHAO" -- referring to the Nicaraguan Humanitarian Assistance Office.

The office was one of the ways the Reagan administration got around what were known as the Boland amendments, which prohibited U.S. intelligence agencies from spending money to overthrow the Sandinistas. The office was a way the administration could get funds to the contras for nonmilitary purposes, but once there the money was used for all sorts of things.

This may indicate that Roberts lawyered the Iran-Contra scandal from the getgo.

Wonderful guy. Nothing like a little bit of a crack explosion on our streets in the 80's or anything.....

doubt it. there was no way as Associate Staff Council he would have had clearance for Reagan's Iran-Contra inner circle.

Really? Let me quote again:

His draft was in regards to this very office that Reagan's Admin. used to circumvent the Boland amendments. Though admittedly we don't know what was written, it does beg the question as to why Bush is keeping this secret (along with thousands of other documents on Roberts).

my god. how long are your arms anyway?

Oh come now, that's not too far of a stretch. Maybe a little one, but aiding and abetting known drug draffikers (sp?) in efforts to fight communism wasn't quite the shining moment during the Reagan Administration now, was it?

And yes, one of those drugs just happened to be cocaine, which just happened to have quite a little explosion during that time. A minor stretch perhaps, but not a big one.....

Hmm, a little more digging into the matter and I ran across a few interesting websites of interest pertaining to the flow of cocaine and the connection to the Iran-Contras, as well as our government's (Ollie North anyone?) willful action of turning a blind eye in the matter:

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB2/nsaebb2.htm

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB113/

And Kerry's committee into the matter with their report:

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB...113/north06.pdf

Interesting reading. Enjoy.

an interesting excerpt from an LA Weekly column to pique some more curiosity...

quote:
The main attraction, former LAPD Detective Mike Ruppert, takes the podium with a joke: "I’m wearing as many mikes as there are in my living room." Famous for grilling former CIA Director John Deutsch at a 1996 L.A. town-hall meeting on the CIA-crack connection, Ruppert brags that he cost the director an appointment to head the Defense Department. Bespectacled and genial, he speaks about the latest conspiracy theory lighting up the Internet: allegations of a 1985 DEA videotape of Jeb and George Jr. buying 2 kilos of cocaine during a sting operation in Miami, Florida. The story is wholly unsubstantiated, but Ruppert swears he will get to the bottom of it if it’s the last thing he does. But that costs money, and if the good people of the Granada Forum would just purchase copies of his From the Wilderness newsletter . . . (He repeats the request half a dozen times during the talk.)

Ruppert calls for volunteers to play-act how the CIA and the bankers of the world launder drug money and corrupt our government. The gag sounds like it might be fun, so I step forward — zowie, for a minute I’m the CEO of General Electric! We switch roles, and Ruppert makes me the head of "Goldman Sachs." In this world, Wall Street is always represented by Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers or some other non-Gentile name. I refuse to play along. "Merrill Lynch, Michael, I’m Merrill Lynch, okay?" Ruppert glowers but moves on.

Ruppert puts up a map of South-Central L.A. and explains that the CIA deliberately flooded African-American neighborhoods with cocaine, not only to raise money for the Nicaraguan contras, but to destroy land values. "These middle-class families saw their property values plummet — it was CIA gentrification!" he says. Wow — the Left and the Right colliding, right here in Tarzana! Ruppert concludes with another observation: "You can’t end all of the evil in the government by cutting off the head of one person — cutting Bill Clinton’s head off isn’t going to do it. Cutting George Bush’s head off isn’t going to do it." At that point, he’s lost the crowd, for whom the suggestion of decapitation of either Clinton or Attorney General Janet Reno might have brought a standing ovation.

Well, the column seems to have been taken down since that last post was made.

Here's the cached version from Yahoo:

Not weird, just easily misunderstood - especially by small minds that choose to pass judgement over what amounts to a simple, frivolous mouse-click.

It's funny that you come to yet another erroneous conclusion. Because between work and school, (and not including sleeping there), for the last couple of months I've only been spending a grand total of about 7 hours a week at home. It's pretty bad because I really need to get to my laundry, which is beginning to pile up.

I do often come to conclusions pretty early on...kind of like a conspiracy theorists who must always believe that the government is planning some big bad event. This event will lead to the end of the humans due to the government. But I hate breaking it to you our civilization will end before the government ever achieve this big bad event.

Its kind of funny though that you are just a big brain filled with knowledge that most people can not compare to your state of thinking and comprehension.

Becareful peeps Trancer-X is unique

btw don't worry about your laundry you could wear your pants for five days and not have to was them. I do that quite often you know I kind of figured its eco-friendly since I am not wasting water as most people do.
