Alright alright...

so i see a lot of you guys spouting things like, "HA! You think 50 cent is REAL hip-hop?? how ignorant blah blah blah"

so who are some artists that fall under the category of "real" hip-hop??

AFAIK, try looking up stuff by Atmosphere.. they are pretty good and non commercial.. (i could be wrong though)

Hip-hop, not rap, is a movement, praising Africanism, graffiti, skateboarding, etc. Artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, A tribe called Quest, De La Soul, Common (although it seems like he's selling out nowdays), all portray the skill that hip hop is.

I don't tend to like American hip-hop much, but I guess Public Enemy is an obvious thing to recommend.
