is it only possible to split mixes and recordings that are long through burning software like nero or are their other free downloadable programs that allow you to do that. my computer came with a recording software that allows only basic burning without splitting the mix into tracks. would this be the same as cue sheets or does that not apply in this case.

You can try Adobe Audition 1.5. Thats what I use to track my mixes without a pause for my CDs
