A local club has asked me for a demo. This club plays a lot of tribal, underground, "blade" type stuff but also throw in stuff like delerium or rank 1. Do you think this playlist would be nice assuming I do a good job mixing it? I dont have all the records yet or I would try to get an idea of how it would all sound. How does it look? This will be my first attempt at recording.
Airwave - Save Me (Whiteroom Mix)
Ferry - Its Time (Flashover Mix)
Purple Haze - Adrenaline
Katana - Pleasure Island
Members of Mayday - 10 in 01 (PVD)
Marcel Woods - Advanced
Katana - Play it Louder
Armin - Shivers (morph mix)
NU NRG - Butterfly
Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Mix)

I've always found it a bit strange when people post a tracklist for a demo... for me, if mixed in the right way you can make all sorts of things work that might not look right on paper so the best thing is just to have a go at it.
You say you haven't got all of the records yet - again, as the best way to see if a set of tunes will work as a demo is to just have a go at mixing it, I wouldn't really recommend planning a tracklist and then buying the tunes for it. You'll probably find it a lot easier to know what will work if you plan a tracklist with tunes you've already got and you've played a few times so you know them a little bit better, so buy records you like and you think you'd play out as well as include in demos, have a couple of practice mixes then decide what to do with your demo from there.
Or just do it on the fly... make it up as you go along!

yeah I agree with Stu, what ever you mix when mixed right will sound fine. I mean its cool that your asking TA guys, but I would say try it out and see how it sounds. You know take chances and try new things.
It does though look like a great track list. I would def. like to hear it once mixed.
All the best to you.
Rich
