That's a brave remix to undertake in no uncertain terms.

It's getting there but not liking the stabs and chord change as it leads in.
It's probably a case of the fact that I have played the original out so much that I expect it to sound a certain way though, but keep at it.
In my opinion though I think you need to balance some of the sounds in it a little better and maybe use more verb to get a better feeling of space. Pan it a little more too as the mix sounds very centered if that makes sence.

Again, it's just my opinion and it's a humble one at that so naturally do what you feel.

Liking the overall idea though so look forward to hear this one finished.

Cheers
Nem

one of the better remixes ive heard of this tune on this board. the lead synth is a little too high pitched. or maybe its just the volume.

not too bad though. keep at it.

thanks for your feedback!

space is definitely a problem i have, and for that i'm not going to do the mixing myself. i hope a professional mixing/mastering can get a clearer sound out of the entire track.
but until then, i need more feedback

Hey dude, it's not the clarity.
The space thing is just a question of being a little braver with the panning and also putting reverb on reverb.

Cheers

HI,

Nice intro, liking the percussion work, is this a sampled loop? it sounds very familiar... Bass is cool. The buildup is ok, i dont like the dry saw waves. The sine synth is cool. I like the flow of the track and would like a full.

nice drums. and quite original. first break is a bit too '99' rmx of a venga boys track... as is the general synth choice.

after this... i like your use of fred baker style snares they may be overused but they re damn cool

nice choice of synth for main lead. i think some long note bass would be more up to date it complement your lead.

in short its a top track to live up to and i doubt even mike can better the original. lets hope his 2006 rmx is up to all the expectations!

Sample in opening is cool. Big techness. Sounds familiar though.

You seem to be doing some different things with you chord progressions. I like.

Lead is waaaaaay too hard panned. If you're gonna pan stuff, make it non-lead.

Lead is also too loud. Excellent synth selection, but a sound like that lead can be turned down a bit. You'd be surprised how quiet you can make some things without losing them.

I like how you've made the track your own with the bassline here.
