Mr Peculiar - Mind Dala [psy album]

*This is album pure genius*

Mind Dala is without a doubt the best psy album of the year. I was not expecting the absolutely brilliant soudscapes produced on this album. Mr P is a genius!

'Brainsnake' is a masterpiece of psy. Every sound in this track is perfect & is perfectly placed. I was fully energised by 3:30 & by the end of the track felt pumped, refreshed & inspired. THIS is what psy should be.

'Mind Dala' is a beautifully dark & atmospheric track. It is a Huge track that expanses into the beyond of a foreign landscape. The gated/reverbed synths suck in your soul while the saws tickle your brain!! It's definitely my favourite track on the album.

The build ups 'Silver clouds' the tune is sweet. The bass line is awesome. The eerie choir pads / bass drum / bass is a great combination. Again the quality of each track is amazing; this track especially. I had to crank it up on my monitors & blast the block out.

Every single track on this album is killer. Easily 10/10.

This was indeed an unusually good contemporary psy album. Don't know if it's the album of the year, but it's certainly better than most of what's being released these days.

Born on Mars is great if you edit out the stupid "I was born on Mars" vocal
Crystal Energy & Silver Clouds are good ones too

Born on Mars has some very inspiring moments. There are so many elements & fx floating around; i was in awe at how it all come together. The bass line is very psy. I agree that the little vocal sample at the end should be taken out. It comes off as being a bit cheesy; but it is such a short sample that it is overshadowed by the scope of the rest of the track.

African Soul is well worth a few listens. It's growing on me.
