Drunk Armin van Buuren @ Crobar [REVIEW]

what else can i say but WOW!!!! what a night... i know its still going on but i got work early so i left crobar at 5:30.

anyway... i left my house at 11 hoping to get there by 12:30 or so. man was i wrong. it took me about 2 hours to cross the GWB because they were doing construction so nobody was moving for 20 minutes at a time , so i inched my way into the city at around 1:30 hoping to get in by 2. WRONG AGAIN! the line was practically around the block and i thought i would never get in. but the bouncers announced it was sold out so alot of people got off line and it moved rather quickly. once i got inside (at 2:30) i walk into a ridiculously packed room with absolutely no room to dance. I was really taken back by how sick the lasers were, they were all over the place, it was fantastic!!! i was a little bummed that i didn't get to catch the end of remy's set but armin made up for it. i got up to the front to find a bunch of coked up 50 year old asians (like usual, same annoying people as always, i really dont know what the F*ck they are doing there, they should not come to clubs at that age, i would be embarrassed to show up to a clubn if im 40+) but i overlooked it and had a great time anyway. except for some guy grinding up on me and then grabbing my side... i was like turned around and pushed him as far back as i could, i was ready to knock him out. that was so uncalled for and disturbing.
anyway, armin played a good set. i think he played better in june, but he still dropped some great tracks.

U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name (Nu Nrg Remix)
Marco v - False Light
P Diddy - Lets get Ill
Bart C - Playmo (1st Play)
The Police - S.O.S. (Sander van Doorn Remix)
AvB - Shivers
AvB ft. G&D - Zocalo
Markus Schulz - Without you Near
+some amazing track from 1999 that i just can't ID right now

Right after armin dropped Lets get Ill Diddy himself came down to the booth and was rockin it with armin, i thought it was really cool of him to do that. i kinda suspected something since i haven't heard play that track since 2003, i thought maybe diddy was chillin there somewhere, and funny enough, he came down like 2 minutes later and was going nutz with armin when he dropped the beat, it was insane!!!

i didnt see alot of TA's but i did see big mike, sveta, kadomony and i was standing next to dj rocket but didn't realize it til later. i was wearing a black F*** Me Im Famous shirt so i dunno if anybody noticed me....

i left at around 5:30 because of work but it was still a good nite overall!

here are the pics:

Glad you had a good time, sounds like fun, but why does this have to happen every time? Seems that every once in a while I hear about Diddy showing up at "our" nights and managing to finagle his music into it, coming up on stage, etc.... how does he do it and why?? How can I gain such power? And the most important question of all, who actually wants him in the mainstream EDM scene? Anti-Diddy-in-EDM alliance?

Last time I went to Morillo at Crobar, he gets up and tells the crowd, "Yo ppl on the left say fuck u to the ppl on the right. Hey ppl on the right, say fuck u to the ppl on the left. Hey ppl in middle, say fuck all of yall." Then proceeds to throw water into the crowd but manages only to get Morillo and his books of cds wet along with the turntables.

its 8:45a...
long night...
too tired to get into too many details but the night could have been better.
remy played a great set.
armin played enough progressive filler back to back to make me go insane, im very dissapointed in his overall track selection.
the crowd pissed me off greatly. whats with all the pushers, shovers, grabbers, and assholes?

time for sleep

have to disagree with some of the other posts. I had an amazing night. Armin played an amazing set (my opinion of course). What was that, six hours? Yeah, awesome.

I met a lot of you TranceAddicts, thanks for being so friendly.

I will definitely post pics later. 857am, time for bed.

Thanks Armin!

ps some tracks that I recognized (not saying much)

Solarstone - Solar Coaster

Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes

Markus Schulz ft. Departure - Without You Near

Theme from Blade

Zocalo

and of course say hello

gonna go pass out now but let's just say it was

Yea, what was that oldschool 1999 track? sounded so familier. I could be wrong but didnt he drop Solar Stone - Solarcoaster too? Great night, Lasers were tight, and the ice cannons were in full effect. Also, was wondering if the DJ controls when to hit the cannons or just crobar personell? Good seeing the regulars and good time rippin in with SOT as usual. Heard every song i pretty much wanted to hear, Kosmas Epsilon - Innocent thoughts

I remember seeing him on the space terrace at this years WMC and was wondering the same thing, I guess he's just a crowd pleaser, he def knows how to work a crowd, and everybody was loving it too.

i just got home
all i have to say is
tiesto who?, pvd who?, ferry corsten who?
armin fukin owned hands down best set i ever heard
he got on at 1:45 and went till 7:40
the bouncer had to physically tell him to stop
armin deff was into the set
iam still in a state of trance i cant even go to bed some of the tracks he droped
streets have no name (nu nrg remix)
solar stone- solar coaster (midway remix)
playmo
armin vs mike- intruder
purple haze- adrenaline
thomas bronswear- close horizion
and many more
armin layed off of the trance mostly and stuck to more techy sounding trance and some banging techno
as someone said before even puff daddy was into the set
once again a surreal night
thank you armin and thank you made for makeing this event happen

Will post pix later. Couldn't blv Diddy was there. Some tracks that Remy & Armin played:

DJ Remy:

Kosmas Epsilon - Innocent Thoughts (Stel Remix)
TDR - Squelch (Sander van Doorn Remix)
Finor - Dilemma (Remy Remix)
Roland Klinkenberg - Twilight
Rio Addicts - Crossroads (Perry O'Neil Remix) ?
Armin van Buuren Feat. Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Bounce Back

A bit hard to remember most because alot of the tracks Remy played didnt have significant melodies.

Armin van Buuren:

Markus Schulz Feat. Departure - Without You Near (Gabriel & Dresden Remix) x2
Randy Katana - Play It Louder (Some of you said it was the theme of Blade)
Fred Baker - Total Blackout
Active Sight - Adrenaline (Original Mix)
Purple Haze - Adrenaline

Fred Baker Vs. Greg Nash - Electro Shock
Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes

TDR - Squelch (Sander van Doorn Remix)
Apogee - Tribal Affair (Marcos Mix)
Rank 1 - Top Gear
Mike Koglin Vs. Jono Grant - Sequential (Original Mix)
Marco V - False Light
M.I.K.E. - Fuego Caliente (Dimitri Andreas Remix)?
Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream (Paul van Dyk Remix)

Thomas Bronzwaer - Close Horizon (Original Mix)
Kyau Vs. Albert - Falling Anywhere
U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (nu nrg Remix)

Armin van Buuren Feat. Gabriel & Dresden - Zocalo
Armin van Buuren - Control Freak (Remix)

I think this set will be hard to top. Guess someone will tell us about the Glow event tonight. His mixing was great. 2 or so slipups. No biggie And as usual, still alot of songs from ASOT he didnt play. Was hoping he'd Drop Alex M.O.R.P.H. - New Harvest (New Club Mix) I think I saw DJ Scribble there...
