[kind of psy] Ancient Machines

"Ancient Machines" link: http://www.dump.com/slyc/

A sort of psytrance style track which grew out of some random experimentation with feldspar synth.

mixed using headphones so I'd like to hear opinions of people listening through monitors how it sounds.

sorry the ending is a bit abrupt - I never really know how to finish tracks very well,.

Cant really help you with the monitoring. I'm at work and listening on my crappy $2 headphones

I really enjoyed listening to this. It has an almost housey feel to the percussion and structure. The melody is really catchy and that FM'ed synth in the background keeps it bouncing along. Theres a lot of subtle layering too and you keep them all fairly well separated.

The production is very tight, all the sounds are quite clear. 10 thumbs up =)

Yeh, definitely very housey, yet it's got all the elements of a psytrance track.

That ending is pretty crap. You could do the cheap thing and just start cutting layers away until you've got nothing. That worked for me back when I was still learing how to put songs together.

agreed. I tried with the peeling away layers thing but it seemed to dilute the impact of the 'main' finale where all the elements are present
