If it weren't for Oakenfold and Gabriel and Dresden, I would have had to hurt someone last night.

For starters, I have no idea what USC was thinking in neglecting to put out any signs or banners indicating WHERE the event was taking place this year. It took us twenty minutes to figure out where the goddamn entrance was... and then we stood in line with hundreds of other people who were just as confused as we were about whether or not we were all in the right place. On top of that, they made us stand outside in the cold for what seemed like ages...

(BTW, did anyone else see the unconscious kid in the grass off to the side of the line? He was down for a good 15 minutes before anyone thought to call an ambulance.)

Once we got inside, it was pretty obvious that USC slapped shit together this year. The layout was retarded, the "beer gardens" were only serving Budweiser, and the candy kids were allowed entirely too much freedom to annoy the fuck out of everyone throughout the majority of the night.

I stayed for most of the main stage performances. We were front and center against the guard rail for pretty much the entire night, except for one break near the end of Oakenfold's set because he was boring us with his track selection. Grayarea live sucked a fat one, but Liquid Todd was surprisingly solid. Oakenfold was a bit of a disappointment toward the end of his set but otherwise rocked it.

Gabriel and Dresden were definitely the highlight of the evening. They had the crowd going strong from the start of their set and, much to our delight, we were able to get Dave's attention at one point during the breakdown in a track and signaled for "My Blue Heart"... which he dropped a few tracks later. We left before the end of their set, however, because we were extremely tired and people were starting to crowd together a bit too much for our taste. (I threw an elbow into several people who were trying to force their way to the front of the crowd... it was getting pretty lame at points.)

In conclusion, it definitely wasn't worth $40 per ticket to see the show last night. I would request that USC increase the minimum age to 18 if they decide to do another show next year... and at least put something respectable in the beer gardens.

Agreed. Last year was far better. However, like I said in the other thread, I'll give them partial credit for it being put together apparently as a "last-minute" thing.

I was probably a couple of people behind you whenever I was at the main stage, and it was worse where I was. I had to pull my shoulders as close to my body as I could and literally could not move for a period of fifteen minutes during Oakey's set. More and more people kept pushing forward and I had to physically push them back because they didn't get the idea that getting any closer was impossible; the sad thing is that they got pissed off at me.

I was going to have photos and videos up today but I'm still tired. Hopefully I can get 'em up tomorrow.
