repairing stereo cancelation

Track sounds fine in stereo, then I switch to mono and my main lead dissapears! Is there any way I can bring it out again without having to delete anything or significantly change the sound?

Try putting a phase shifter at 90° - 180° on one (but not both) of the stereo channels for the instrument that's disappearing.

Oxford Inflator its a great plugin to use but it is availlable only for Pro Tools and Powercore.

Your sound is out of phase. A phase shifter will do the trick like Diginut said. Anywhere from 90-180 should be fine depending how out of phase it is.
