Listening.
[B}REVIEW[/B]
"We Can Fly"
Those are the lyrics that repeat themselves throughout the song. Although they are well placed and add a catchy groove to the song, those words alone won't keep dancers entretained for long. Atmospherically the song does what it should, setting a mood. Using trickery, one would assume that this would be a hard track to mix due to the lack of a kick in the beginning, but the kick follows shortly after the intro. The bassline is short and light, and may be in need of some serious thickening. Although it's got a great psy-trance feel to it (The bassline) you still miss that fat lower bass that many powerful tracks have.
What really steals the show of course are the pads and the melody, which sound rather catchy and (I) haven't heard very often in any other tune.
If there's anything I'd suggest, it would be to give it more atmosphere in the break at 4:29, implement some effects to set a mood.
A song like this obviously is expected to have a massive break with fat strings all over the place and some serious build up, and filter effect opening up the frequencies. Something that this track really cries out for. It's a good tune, has it's moments but in my view,
fails to deliver those tasty bits that make trance what it is.
The Verdict
GOOD
Loads and Loads of energy. Thumping feel
Nice melody, soothing pads (at times)
Fast bassline
NEEDS
A well composed break with massive energy
Not so repetitive vocals
More Atmospheric FX's
A fatter bassline support
A tad bit heavier kick for those over the top moments.
In The End
Beautiful track, has it's massive energy found in any top notch uplifting tune. But still needs much more beefing up and a little more polish in those hard to reach spots. So much potential.

Wow, Kris Xperiment I really appreciate your elaborate review, that's exactly what we need.
And you've also hit the right spots. We were in kind of "hurry" to finish the track for the Tranceaddict unite 4 compilation, that's why it lacks of fine "polishing" on some parts.
Under the "Dreamweb" project (for around 5 years) i make ambient/chill/psy/goa/full on, and lately some proggy trance, and is kind of hard to "escape" from all those influences My friend makes most of the melodies and pads, i'm "in charge" for the rtm, bassline, fx's , and also production part (mixing & arragement). We too thought that bassline is perhaps more suitable for a more psy track, but decided to stay with it, because it fitted this track preety well. However, it does need some "phatening". Also, some of the synths are really "dry" (like the lead with the sharp sound, appearing before 4:00min), and need more tweaking, especially in the build up (it cries for some massive cut off/resonance/release filters tweaking . Soon as we work on all the changes, i will upload the new version.
In the meantime, any feedback for this version is welcome.
Take care, and respect to all.
