Spunoween Review

Holy s**t...what an amazing nite! I new it was going to be a great nite when I get a parking spot that isn't 4 cigerette walk. Since I got to Circus at midnite, there was only a 5 minute wait. The guy checking IDs said that there was a crazy ass line earlier in the nite. *nice*

The only draw back is that I missed Pulser's set. How was it? Did he play "Point of Impact"? At least, Christopher Lawrence dropped it in. "My Religion"?

This is the first time I've heard Judge Jules live and he did not disappoint one bit. I'm a believer in this Brit. What showmanship and command. He had everyone going ape shit.

All in all, a terrific nite.

Pulser played "My Religion" (closing track), but not "Point Of Impact." He seemed stunned when I told him that CL had just played it!

the first 1/3 of the CL was great after that he went back to his banging ways. Just got first hour of Judge Jules which had some pretty good moments.
Man when you are drinking the spundae crowed can be really anoying, I was standing next to my friend like shoulder to shoulder and these people instead of walking around us just push there way tru us.LOL

lol, i swear philippe you have got to be one of the most impressive TRACK ID'ers here on the boards. you never fail to bring up 90% of tracklistings... good stuff! amazing to read that you know the genre that well, much respect.

i unfortunately did not make it to either spunoween or MM... i would have definitely chosen spunoween though. CL never fails to amaze thee. (trance messiah that first brought me into trance back in the day when you had to import the "RISE" from the UK because EDM still was hard to find)

jules rocked MM last year, i can only imagine what a crazy set he blended @ spundae. glad to hear you guys rocked the night out... i hear some unpleasant reviews over at the MM thread

Yup Junior, you missed one of the best hard sets I've ever heard. Jules' mixing was absolutely spot on.

Btw, "My Religion" and "point of impact" sound completely different so its really not that hard to ID. But both great, great tracks nonetheless...

What a F@*#ing awesome night!!! The only negative part of the night was parking. I didn't get lucky with the valet line and had to drive around the block a couple of times which was very annoying when all I wanted was to be inside to hear Kristina Sky's set. When I finally made it in (the line wasn't bad at all at 11:30) the energy of the crowd couldn't have been a better welcome.

Durning CL's set, I heard Judge Jules was spinning house upstairs. So, I wondered up there and ended up staying til he went to play the main room. What a great house set...He had me dancing my tail off. By the time he went on in the main room the place was going bananas, and he was up there egging everyone on...what a great dorky crowd pleaser, how can you not smile just watching him.

Anyway, I thought Judge Jules was wonderful, and I loved his set. The overall night was one to remember.

and those two tracks had nothing to do with my applause toward philippe... has has conistently demonstrated superb knowledge of the trance genre many many times before with 90% complete track listings... once again you missed my point.

ps. LALAGIRL... correct me if i'm wrong but it appears that jules is behind the turntables located at the spundae loft... he didn't spin main room??

*blushes* Thank you, Junior *blushes*

Judge Jules spun a house set in the loft while Christopher Lawrence was in the main room, then took over the main room... just like LaLaGirl said

He is a fantastic performer indeed. I may not have liked much of what he played, but just watching him being goofy (and doing tricks with the mixer) was enough to win anyone over regardless of the music I was surprisingly impressed! If you've never seen him before, definitely check him out next time you have a chance...

If you took pictures, but don't have a way to post them, please let me know, and I will upload them to my server for everyone to see.

There were some amazing costumes (I would crown Lara Croft the winner), so let's see them!

All I have to say is that Christopher Lawrence was off the hook! That man never fails to please, I love his dark, twisted beats. I never miss a show and can happily say that I am a true CL GROUPIE!

Jules was good too, I like his energy although some of his tracks are a bit obvious. Still fun though.

Did not hear Pulsar as me and my man were drinking at the Formosa before Spundae. Would have liked to see what he was like.

Last night was lots of fun, not counting looking for parking! Got there almost at 11:00 (damn traffic up the ying yang everywhere you looked) and waiting for parking sucked. When it was finally my turn (so I thought) to drive in... I got the "SORRY LOT FULL."
Drove around again and luckily, my usual parking spot wasn't taken which was a surprise!

I ended up missing Ms. Sky's set by a pinch when I got in. Pulsar had just taken over the decks and man oh man.... He sure spun some good tracks that kept me dancing in the main room for a while.
After awhile I made my rounds to the other rooms (gotta check them all out) for a bit and then found myself back in the main room as CL was taking over. It wasn't the usual CL set but it sure had everyone going nuts. I liked it!
I also checked out the Judge's loft set, which was different from what I've heard him spin before and I was impressed... didn't realize the Judge was versatile.

Overall, the whole night was alot of fun. WoOt wOoT!!!
