so here i am typing on ta. hitting refresh to see if anything new is being said. and why?!?! because im the wrld's biggest procrastinator. i have 2 projects due to 2 builders on monday and still have a house to go and measure out and i cant get myself up to do it. i am a smart ass kid ( a little uneducated, but neverthelesss witty and smart) and iseem to have this bad bad habit, and no baby its not you, it aint you, its called procrastination. i cant get mysefl to do things but once i do i dont stop till its done. however its just the act of getting myself going. once i have the momentum i dont stop for anything cept for food. any suggestions to overcome myself? and get that initial momentum?

just force yourself i guess. say that, ok i'll just study for 30 min. but you will see since you already started that you will actually go for longer cuz you just said that once you start you keep going. but you know that 30 min is nothing anyway so its easy to say ok i will study for only 30 min.
maybe that can work..

I'm a HUGE procrastinator too, but lately when I find myself putting thngs off in the exact same way you are, I just tell myself that it's more worth my time to do what I have to do than to sit on TA and wait for something to happen (and nothing ever happens). Turn off your computer, sit down, and just FORCE yourself to work on your projects...even if only for an hour.

maybe however the othe rproblem i have is that im a ta addict and a msn addict. my work has to be done on the comp. but i have it set in my head that when im on the comp i have to check ta and be on msn and check email and all that shit.

i know the solution is to buy a laptop and not install any of that shit on it and just do the work from there. however, laptops arent cheap

Same here man, same here. Just get an older sub-laptop like an HP Jornada 820 that's only good for Word and shit but weighs only 2 pounds like I have and go to town.

yep i know what u mean. see if im gonna get shit done i have to go to the local library. i get soo much work done just sitting there because theres nothing to do but do ur work./ ill be like ok ive worked 2 hours straight let me take a 20 min break. so ill stand up walk around and there will be absolutely fuck all to do (plus the librarians are all old and ugly) so i end up just taking a 2 min break and going back to work. FUCK i need a laptop.

whates even funnier is that subconciously i just made this thread to procrastinate from doing my work :P

Close your browser
Open up whatever program u need to do your work and just sit there until u do it.
