I saw an ad for it and thought it looked interesting. By the guy who did American Beauty (which I've never seen), isn't it?

It supposed to be the best comedy of the year.

i never seen American Beauty, but if it won a grammy, it must be good rite? I'm a big fan of the bald guy in the movie, the main character. He was in October Sky which is my all time average movie

Alot of people with tastes I trust labeled American Beauty as one of the top movies of 1999. I was supposed to see it with one of my biggest crushes, but i went to my ex's (of the time) house to try to make up so I could get some. So, I missed one of the best movies of 1999 to get a handjob from my ex while her grandpa had coffee in the next room.

I told the crush that I wouldn't see it without her, and to this day, I havent.

It was alright, it was above average, but still lower then my expectations cause it ended quite abruptly...

DOnnie dark.... I mean jake gyllenhaal does a fantastic job, it's a very serious role for him and he cusses almost on every other word

jamie foxx was alright... I haven't seen RAY so I can't compare it to that performance

also a big fuck you to those people that bitch and moan how the gulf war was not portrayed correctly in this movie... do you come to the movies to get entertained or to analyze it like you're going to write a 5 page essay about it?

DJC. you do realize the movie takes place during the Gulf War, right? Not during the Iraq War right now

the movie is extremely good. Definatly recommend it. BTW, the bald guy's name is Jake Gyllenhaul and he was the man in Donnie Darko!
