[Darkstyle] Takkra - Freak! [192kb/s] [137bpm]

Ok, here's ANOTHER song I finished in the remaining 5 hours I had after studying for my english & math tests..
I had an inspiration boost after hearing african call & response vocals, and I tried to do the same with drums and synths in this song. song is very perc based, and very dark.

length: 6:49
filesize: 9611 kb
Bitrate: 192 kb/s

WTFBBQ??! So now we've got "Darkstyle"? omgtakk

Sound very interresting, nontheless. Deep tribal Tech Trance-sounding (if such genre exsist) A bit lazy not to come up with your own melody, but the synth sounds cool, so it's excepted
Could use some more synths in the beginning, though. It's kinda empty there. Good luck on it,

the classic takkra sound but with a considerable difference in sound.- for the better

i really like the overall sound this one has. and the little spin-down is cool!- my favourite bit infact. i can never help but think that your tracks would benefit so much if you had a massive kick sample. like the m.i.k.e kick from 'massive motion'

nice and original as always.

Listening as I go.

Dark tribal.. mmm, nice. Lots of techno influences. Plenty of energy and drive.

Change around the 3 min mark contrasts well with the intro. Starts trancing out more here. Industrial samples are cool...

5 min ... driving towards a resolution, lots of tension.... kinda fades away...

Good stuff, really like it. Much better than that 'other' track you posted up j/k Its sort of missing a punchline of sorts and doesnt really resolve, but theres so much tension and atmosphere, it doesnt matter. The intro especially is killer! Nice work.

Nice sounds overall.

I don't really like that hat that sounds like a crash - (or am I just nuts?)

I like the bit at 3:00 or so. It starts out very tribal and suddenly it shifts to a more minimalistic kind of techno.

This reminds me of some of the ooooooooollldd techno I used to hear back in the days before I even knew what techno was

I think this could work well as a kind of transition track between genres in a set.

Nice work!

The clunking metal is wicked! It seriously rocks

This is a great concept track. The hard & heavy mad max drums sustain an awesome drive. It all seems manufactured though & very computerized. The toms, for example, do not have a real feel.

The progression is great. The crashing cymbals are a little overwhelming at times, but a little mastering may fix that.

The bass is awesome, as they always are with your tunes.

It all seems very simple, but is very effective.

The synth layer that comes in at 2:50 could develop a bit more. It sounds sweet @ 5:00 mark but I think this tune could benefit with a further development; maybe with another similar layer & Elevate it more between 5:00 & 5:50 & then fade her out. ...Just an idea

Love your work Takkra.

Percussive effects in opening are TIGHT!!!

Very tribal feel in the first minute. I love it. Very driving.

Phaser is nice.

I think it's a bit repetive from 0:56 to 1:49, unless you were going for that more techy feel in the intro where the edits are more important than new elements.

Bass is pretty nice.

You could totally alter the tamber and such of your lead a lot more as it goes a long, and make the transitions more smooth.

4:55 is tight.

Not bad. I really like the techno influences here. They really help with the feel.

I agree with the others, the percussion is damn well done, especially the intro. Maybe that hiss sound gets a little distracting after a while. I got to say I really like the melody, although for my taste your could put some more changes in it. Honestly speaking, I didnt like your previous tunes that much personally but this one really surprised me, it's damn well done! Again, respect for the really superb beat. Keep it up!

First of all, I want to apologize for the fact that I reply so late.
Ive been extremely busy this week because I had a "testweek" at school. im in the 5th year so its the hardest year, before the 6th year when I get my exams ..

Secondly, Im really glad to hear you guys liked the tune, and im also very happy to see that theres always one certain group of people to reply in my threads.. really nice.

In the coming update the mastering will be done and youll hear a "different" kick, youll like it !

Xenocreator_PG_ & Aquarian had some comment about : the crashes wannabe hihats.

Okay guys.. the track neeeds a very hard crash.. I tried it with normal hihats but it loses álot of drive really. theres one continuing reverse crash that keeps going on and I really cant replace it.. the track loses its kinda fullness then.. still ill try to do something with that in my update.

And everyone else who liked the percussions.. I got the inspiration on NationGeographicChannel lol african drums and stuff
sometimes you can get really nice grooves if you combine rythms from different cultures..
I really want this one to grow better.. and there were 3 dj's who wanted it on vinyl ( one's my friend so that doesnt count lol) so if you guys would help me so I can make this song into something.. releasable maybe.. just maybe ? I dont know maybe thats a bit to much..
Would love to hear more about the song so I can improve it

Takkra,

My man you have made one of the best openings to a track I have heard so far on these boards Those percussions are totally wicked.

However you need to introduce a bass sooner mate. I think you might hold the attention of listeners longer if you introduce your the real deal of this track sooner.

I like the little pluck synth you use during the track on which you use the cutoff pretty nicely At minute 5 I am really bouncing in my chair. Too bad the track is almost over. It is a bit too minimalistic in my view. You could have used a bit more melodic sounds to make the track even bouncier but overall this is by far your best track. Also good job on how you end the track! You have improved quite a bit in a few months time mate!

Good luck on all that studying

Cheers,

Nomen Nescio
