Review: Sander Kleinenberg in Ottawa
I think I might have gone over board a little. After getting settled in, my guests and I made our way over to Foundation for a great meal and very cool atmoshphere.(thx for suggesting it ACA2000)The venue of the show was really cool, although it could be i was a bit drunk. When I got there Sander was already on the decks and putting out some wicked tunes.
Regretably i lest after only 2 hours, so I need to know how the rest of the night went.Ottawa peeps fill me in....what I had seen at the point before leaving was good.I spent the night thinking how great it would have been to see it at home.

all in all i think the show was great. Sander never dissappoints. i got there at around 12:30 and caught a little bit of Brad Copelands set. Pretty funky toons he had goin, pretty decent opening though. then finally the one and only Sander Kleinenberg appears. Very nice set Sander had going, kudos for that! but i was kinda hoping Sander would go towards the progressive trance end of the spectrum rather than progressive house. the vibe was really good, everyone was having a good time and i didn't see any altercations with bouncers all night. i give credit to Capital City Music Hall for not intentionally over crowding the venue, we all know what happended at Circus and all (everyone actually had space to dance) lol... in conclusion i wasn't dissappointed at all. the vibe was awesome, the people were awesome and last but not least, the music was off the hook! by the way was their a TA meetup??

It was a great party, perhaps the best (edm) one ottawa has scene in years (if not ever). Sander played an awesome set, especially the first 4hrs. He started with his trademark funky-house, then into some almost psy-sounding house? and ended with some progressive/trance (which was nice, but slighlty killed the mood).
Couple tracks I remember:
Mylo - Muscle Cars (Dj T rmx) -he played it twice actually
Slam - this world (wruhme rmx)
Sasha - expander
mv - mr. roboto
remy & armin - bounce back (i think)
Anyways, it's a shame the venue (CMH) is closing down, as it's prolly the best ottawa has to offer for this type of event. And the turnout was excellent (the place wes packed), which really bodes well for future parties here.
PURELY AMAZING NIGHT!!! just like i though it would be, and for sure the ride up to ottawa was worth it.
Here's two amazing tracks that made me go crazy:
royksopp-what else is there (trentemoeller remix)
Jon Gurd - Lemon Sherbert
ps. i dont remember too much of the tracklist atm
ps2. Thanks a lot to Kim and her friends for the amazing sushi and the totally positive vibe before the party!!! U guys rock.
