Ive had the same needles on my decks for nearly 3 years now, i broke one recently when i was drunk and whacked the tone arm into the platter and bent the needle, apart from that lasted forever. It depends on alot of factors as to how long they last, if you keep them clean and keep the records clean and dont apply to much counterweight, they should last you a long while. Mine were only generic tips aswell the gemini c500 costing me £30 for the pair

Yeah I bent mine back too. There is a little kink in it now, but it works just fine.

Somebody pushed one of my Numark CC-1 needles into the stylus and I pushed it back out with one of those tiny screwdrivers and it still works like a charm
