I haven't heard (luckily) none of the other Crazy Frog tracks besides the horrible Axel F but have seen the album tracklist and believe most of the tracks on the album are just "as-cheesy-as-cheddar-can-be" remakes of hits from the past with a very little effort and original production involved.
Anyways the original version of Popcorn comes from 1969, written and produced by Gershon Kingsley, released as 'Gershon Kingsley's First Moog Quartet - Popcorn' and was rewritten & produced by a brother duo Bill Jerome & Steve Jerome under the alias Hot Butter in 1972, backed up by a moog guru Stan Free who was also a member of Kingsley's First Moog Quartet. Then it finally became a huuuuge international hit.
Nowadays it has got dozens and dozens more remixes and remakes from various names under every imaginable genre but as said the original version is still the best, IMO as well. |
grim reaper the walking discography never fails to disappoint me
