Mike Smith - Midnight Mist

Hey,

Just thought I'd share this bit of flute based action with y'all, similar style to my other Mike Smith productions, chilled, relaxing, and a little bit trancey.

just a small thing to note, in the break, where it all goes fairly quiet, I'd ideally have added some gently spoken vocals there, but couldnt really find anything to fit!

anyway, enjoy

mike smith - midnight mist

downloading it now, Mike,

will post some comments about the track, later

btw, what about your MK-S project? i barely heard anything new from you since the Quirson remix...

edit: i really enjoyed listening to this one, mate, quality chillout/breaks track, the flute melody is great, i like the percussion line, although, i would make that bassline a bit more prominent in the mix, great stuff, nevertheless

keep 'em coming,

Peter

I've already named a track after you Haak (Defekt - Haakon, Haakoff). Isn't that enough?

As far as MK-S is concerned I HAVE been producing tracks, just not overly pleased with them. Niklas Hardings played a couple of them on his shows but I don't feel confident enough to send em to labels. Meh.

Really lovely track! No comments whatsoever! Would also be nice if you made a dreamy trancer of this track.

Well it is a wonderful track. But it surely not a atrnce track.

A ambient / chill out track with dreaming tunes. like the flute and moon likely sound with effect bongo with the reverb echo: ing sounds like crystal. You have have made it well. With pooring water in the end and mystery effects in the beginning with a gong to =)

Man, you should! You could make yourself another 107 quid.

The track was awesome! Beautiful flute melody and interesting percussion too. It actually reminds me of something you'd hear in Metal Gear - very atmospheric.

Also loving drunken Colin's vocal version...

- i like the pads and the way they are use
- its nice how the track intensifies
- the melodies are nice, but they are missing that last bit of emotion to make them outstanding imo. but hey, thats not easy to come by.
- before the end, you should take that intensity even higher, adding maybe a violin on top. that could give it the melodic edge.
- really cool outro. the vocals would do nicely there.
