Producers who use hardware only

I've heard the converse of this question asked... but how many major producers only use hardware, or rather, are anti-software? I guess it would be hard to tell from just listening to their tracks, but does anyone know?

Since i have a hardware synth i only use VSTis for weirder complez effects like pads with absynth. But for plain powerful basses and leads i believe hardware is still better than software

Should've clarified: I meant in terms of synths... software FX and sequencing are okay.

if you asked that question a couple years ago, definately a lot of ppl would say their productions come from only hardware synths, but with the explosion of useful vst's/sample libraries, most ppl have been slowly converting in some ways, or at least giving software a chance...i definatey believe nowadays, software and hardware are on equal playing ground, and i find software even gets a few notchs better when comparing huge sample libraries. ppl of course still argue that leads and synth sounds are better on hardware though, but i personally don't think so. that being said, i'm sure even the most spektical ppl (as was i) have incorportated some types of software wit their hardware setup.

For some reason I wish I could use only hardware. I've always thought that hardware synths were better even though I haven't had the chance to tinker with many of them. Analog synths for instance always get my vote, I want a modular analog personally so I can take sound design seriously but the Arturia Moog Modular VST is supposedly a pretty good alternative. Hardware tho is costly and some of the sounds I want are on hardware synths that are out of my budget right now or mostly just can't be bought because they don't make them anymore and no one is selling whats left of 'em.

Therefore there can't be many producers who dont use software by way of sequencers, synths or fx.

Any producer worth their salt can't ignore the advances in computer software technology or things like vst and dxi and dismiss it completely choosing only to use music oriented hardware.

I think you'll find that a lot of them are starting to implement some software in their studio these days. There are some pieces out there that can't be passed up.
