using 'single kick' samples in cubase?? - im confused

i tried searching but none really answered my question..

using cubase by the way..

i have been given some nice kicks recently.. (as single kick audio samples.) but i like to work with kick samples in groups of four.

assuming all the kicks are slightly different lengths, i can copy and paste them into a group sample of four kicks, but then dont know how to make them so they are the right length to work at 134bpm..

i think the best help would be if someone could tell me exactly how long a kick should be for it to be able to be looped at 134bpm.. then when i copy and paste them as groupes of four they will work as samples of four beats.

ps. im using the cubase sl 2.0 sample editor you get with it.

hope someone can help. i ususally write my own kicks using my drum machine via midi so sample editing to an accurate degree is something new to me..

rich

Eh, just use a drum sampler, like LM-7. (Which is included with Cubase I think)

It really doesn't matter how long the kick is, you just arrange it to be on every quarter note.

Learn to use the audio snap, it's probably one of the most important features of the whole program.

As stated earlier, you can also use a sampler, which most people do.
