[p.e.g] - Chiba (Alan-M Remix) [Full 320kbps]

Not sure what is going on with this one... but would be nice for some people to actually hear it since I did it about 2 months ago already.

download

Has been played by St. John and Activa.

The beginning has a nice intro, but lacks a lot of percussion and feel if it were to be played at a club...

Love the break, piano and pads go very well together...

& second half of track is basically similar to the beginning, would be much better if it got more uplifting... (higher pads, louder percussion etc.)

Love the sound of the break though, if you would have implemented that throughout the track with more energy, it would have been much better.

Nice job though

Lacks the climax section from the original mix, which would have helped the main section as midaV pointed out. Also the release on the pads in the breakdown is too long, when they play some faster notes it causes a discordance with the piano.
Other than that, the production is mint and the melody in the first buildup is great. I like what you did to the main melody too.
So I assume this is defo not going on the vinyl then?

Beats me... maybe I'll do another remix. It's not like the vinyl is coming out anytime soon.

hey Alanzo,

I do not know the original of this track so just judging this on its own merits.

I like the energy in the beginning of the track, I totally dig the hihat work you have in it. Bass is also fat ass I love the froglike fx you use in the track, spot on.

Build up for the rest is quite monotonic , breakdown is nice, good choice of low string. Piano must be from the original? Very original to say at the least. Leadsection is also quite good. It misses some drive though, it feels empty because of lack of quicker percussions and because bass and kick are pretty much in the face.

Compared to the Van Gelder remix you just recently did this is a lot more to my liking, it is a lot more sophisticated and has more engagement to it. So fair enough you did quite well and productionwise you are spot on.

Cheers !

Nope, I did the piano

I'm re-doing the remix of Van Gelder - Sensitivity... will be much better the 2nd time through... the first time through was too.. half hearted (as Subtle said).

Thanks for the comments!

I like this version more than the Original.

I didn't understand what the big deal with the Original was, it sounded awful.

This version isn't as uplifting but has much more quality sounds. I especially like the piano break!

Not much to say, but it's definetly better than the Original.

It was a decent track. The original is going to be remastered/re-worked for the vinyl.

Thanks for the comments

really enjoying the intro, the bassline sound gets me going, nice intro synth, i like the percussions so far.. the break is awesome man, those strings are great, very "Barbers Adagio" like.. nice percussion details..

BUT.. what i dont like at all.. is that there is no OPEN HAT, or noticable CLAP.. (I, myself consider that as one of the most important aspects of a good tune..) that lack, kinda makes me not wanna listen to this track again..

thats the only minus i have to give you, otherwise outstanding work

I thought I would avoid that since the track is a pretty chill one (only 136 bpm).

Thanks for the comments.
