Re: How to use an MP3 as a ringtone?

I have Sound Forge and was wondering if I could use that program to take a 320 KBPS MP3 and scale it down to fit on my cell phone so that I could use that MP3 as a ring tone. Any ideas? I really don't use Sound Forge for anything other than recording my sets (overkill, I know).

Highlight the part of the track that you want to use then cut the selected area using edit then cut, open a new blank file then edit and paste. Then click file save as and select mp3 in the options below the file name and then below that choose the quality you want to have it at.
Save the file and transfer to your phone job done.
Don't save changes to the original file though as you will have a large chunk of the tune missing next time you play it.
