Quantum Tunneling is the quantum-mechanical effect of transitioning through a classically-forbidden energy state. Consider a particle with energy E in the inner region of a one-dimensional potential well V(x). In classical mechanics, if E < V (the maximum height of the potential barrier), the particle remains in the well forever; if E > V , the particle escapes. In quantum mechanics the particle can escape even if its energy E is below the height of the barrier V , although the probability of escape is small unless E is close to V . In that case, the particle may tunnel through the potential barrier and emerge with the same energy E.
Although tunneling may seem abstract and far removed from reality, it is a actually a basic and important processes of nature. It is vital, for example, in the very first step of the thermonuclear reaction which powers the Sun.
Inflationary Big Bang Cosmology proposes that the universe began at a state of no geometry (i.e., a universe with nothing, not even time) and then a tunneling occurred, allowing the universe to pass from the state of "nothing" to "something" (the "false vacuum") by tunneling (Guth 1997).

I havent done a mix cd in a while, and this is my first one since moving to Boston from LA (I miss you guys!). Many of the tracks are on smaller labels or have only been released on psytrance compilations. Besides the Aquatica track all of them are from 2005; most of them have had recent releases. Let me know what you think!
