Alright so there is this guy who I liked for the longest time who is a little bit older than me. We've been friends for 3 1/2 years now. I waited for him FOREVER it seems like. We started going out in about March of this year. He is really scared of commitment and has a tough time holding onto a relationship for more than about 2-3 months. We broke up after about 3 months, but remained together for another 3-4 months. We got to a point where we both said we needed a break and we could date other people.

As soon as I started dating Josh he told me that it was time for us to move on. He had started dating this other girl. I ended up breaking up with Josh about two month later. His new gf didn't like me much and told him to stop talking to me, so he did. 2 days later after Josh and I broke up, still going out with her, he tells me he misses me. And that not talking to me for about 2 months was a mistake. He told me he wanted to get back together and that he was breaking up with his gf. I was like okay; I'll give this another chance.

A month later I am still talking to him about it. "I'm going to break up with her tomorrow even if I don't see her." He has told me over and over how much he hates her and how much better I am than her. He hasn't followed through on a word he has said to me. I told him that if things didn't work out that I wouldn't be able to be friend, which he told me was unfair. And I also told him that I was going to put a time limit on getting back together. I don't want to sit around and wait for him to follow through. He wants me to wait for him agin. Some of my friends have told me I'm not being fair on him at all.

Am I? And any other comments on this of course.

I'm not one to be giving advice cuz I can't even remember what a relationship was like. But I think its pure crap that he's talking all that shiet. Actions speak louder than words.

Unless you can't because you are too in love with him.. then i dunno.

Id still suggest omitting him from your existence, as his prescence only seems to aggravate.

I will tell you right now...he will stay with this other chick until she starts wanting a real relationship....once that happens he will throw her to the side.....stay friends with her....and then bang you for awhile....once you start wanting commitment he will drop you and go back to her.....it is a great little cycle he has going....drop his ass and get with someone who will treat you like you deserve (I don't know how you should be treated and maybe you are getting what you deserve but only you know that answer)

i'm with this guy. he's knows that he can keep you around...so that's what he's doing. you gotta be your own person and not wait around for this guy. if he doesn't know that he's lucky to be with you...then it's not worth your time.

it happened to one of my closest friend ....like there was this guy she was attracted to and he was too so they ended up dating sometimes though he had a gf for 3 years but he kept telling her he would dump his gf to be with her and my friend waited waited for months ....and like in july nothing happened anymore between them ....he is still with his girlfriend and never talked her back and i know she is upset with him because she still have feelings but she realized that he was a coward and just would never break up with his girl for her so if u don't want to be played just move on it will avoid u drama and to waste time !
