[Prog/Trance] William Vance - untitled [SAMPLE 128 KBPS]

I've been producing alot lately, and this odd, experimental gritty prog trance situation came about. I definately don't want to ruin the song, and would really appreciate some comments, or thoughts about this.

linkage - <--thats the link

Thanks,

William

I like it alot. You get a lot of bass out of that saw/303 in the beginning. how? may I ask.l exactly the thing I was in the mood for. I like the two melody changes. they come in so perfectly like they're not going to make it. I like the distortion at the end too- Keep it.

To be honest i´m not a big fan of the bass, imo its sound is too monotone and at the bass change @1:30 it would be better to play it an octave higher.

I think, the lead could have more reverb...

Just my thoughts...

P.S.: Maybe you like to criticize/review my new track - http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=311183

Mr. Vance, you have a very unique style! This track is sounding very cool so far, definitely finish it!

Review:

I like the no-bs start. Gets right into things.

I really like the snare roll but it's used way too often. The first time it was way cool. After that it gets annoying. I would only use it the first time, and maybe once more during the track.

Bassline is decent in the beginning. Nice reverb on this!

A little too much dropping the kick in the beginning, I think. Wanna keep that dancefloor momentum going! At 34 seconds you think something's going to happen..... and then it just continues. Kinda misleading and disappointing.

1:02 - Whoa, that dropping synth and the bass is sweet! Bassline comes back in.... really like this part! Cool melody filters in.

1:29 - wow! That totally threw me off guard! Bassline drops an octave or so... that sounds sweet!!

1:43 - new melody comes in, sounds very nice.

2:02 - filtering up the bassline quickly sounds very cool here.

2:17 - LOVE THIS LEAD! It's very Commodore 64, hehe... I love it.

Basically, this track to me sounds like a trance track that's constantly thinking about turning into a goa/psy song but doesn't quite get there (and that's not necessarily a bad thing), and then turns a bit 8-bit Commodore at the end (which is a compliment from me, lol)

Really digging this tune, finish it up! Just be careful with the melodies because you're starting to border on cheese with them. Great job!

That bass is excellent from the start, good vibe you've got going. The arrangement seems a little random, but that can be fixed with some nice transitionaly fx and shit. You get some really deep freqs from that bass but I think it loses power when you drop the bass an octave.
The hat on its own at 0:14 sounds a bit weak, maybe cook it up a little or layer something else on top.
The pitch dropping sounds coming in at 1:02 give the tune a great dark feel, which is kind of undone when the melody kicks in around 1:43 which is more happy. Try to stay focussed and keep the attitude up!

sounds great!

good drive from some subtle and nice percs and that bassline is really driving. very rave esq!

1;20 - melody is not great imo. also not fond on the synth.

1;48 - melody nice but doesnt go with bassline i think.. i wish it did because it sounds nice. have a listen and try and see what i mean..

play around cos this has some great potential here.

nice clean production too.

rich
