Unhappy Happens all the time (no, no cops this time ppl)

but it's still weirder when it's someone you know...this kid i knew from grammar school (he was 4 years younger than me, had a brother i was close to one year younger than me) died apparently from an overdose- he was 19. he disappeared thursday night and they found him saturday dead. my parents are good friends with his parents and they went to his wake on wednesday evening...they said even tho the mortician did his best with the makeup, his eyes were still very dark and his lips were extremely blown up...now people are thinking there was more than drugs involved.. i didn't go to the wake bc i got home from the airport late and was exhausted from catching up on work stuff...i felt bad for not going (tho my parents told me not to cuz they knew i'd just bawl thru it) and i actually had a nightmare about him that night...it was one of those abstract, nonsense dreams but i was crying in my dream (and irl when i woke up).. it's already 3 days later and it's still so disturbing to me...i've been distracted in everything i do..

anyone ever go thru something like this?

Yep.

In the summer of '04 one of my best friends from high school died in his sleep while camping. He had been taking prescription depressants (for sleep disorders), and chose to drink while on them - which is a BIG no no. It wasn't discussed or confirmed (to preserve his and his family's dignity), but it's fairly safe to say he'd been doing other drugs as well that evening.

The saddest part is that it happened to the guy who you'd last expect.

Such is life.

The worse part was, that when everyone was calling each other to say how Norm had passed away. Eric, who knew his mother recently talked to Norm, called everyone up telling them that Norm was okay, and everyone thought there was a bad rumour going around...then they confirmed it and Eric felt like ass. Although we had a good laugh about it.

i havnt experienced death first hand yet, thank god. the closest person i knew that died were just people ide met one time. i knew one guy who had a heart attack. he gave me a boxing pin at a boxing tourney, then he died 6 monthes later. family friend's son died in a car accident. i went to that wake, and it was him and his friend together, they died in the same accident. they looked like they were sleeping. i was scard they were going to wake up or something.

I got a very similair one. Last summer, one of my friends told me that a girl we knew very well in high school, "overdosed" on coke and died. In school there was a moment of silence and the principle went on to talk about her. A few days later was the funeral and the wake. At the funeral her skin DIDN'T look like she ODed, meaning it wasn't extremely pale and her eyes weren't that dark, idk if this happens ALL the time or not but it gets more suspicious. Around her neck was a red scarf, at one point when everyone was coming up to say goodbye someone kissed her on the cheek and her tie came off just a bit...and there were bruises on her neck, like someone choked it (it was very apperant). What was wierd about this that the parents never mentioned anything. A bit afters rumors started that she was like flirting with some kid while she was fucked up and her b/f was in the next room at some house party and he choked her to death.

I had a bunch of friends die from overdoses. Everything from liquid G, to Heroin to Morphine pills. Fucked up shit. It totally sucks. Sometimes when I think of it, im surprised I made it through what I did.
