I just saw a kickass laptop with a nice price tag on it on ebay... the only thing that's stopping me is the fact that the seller has absolutely no feedback rating!!!

should I take the risk and buy it???

i wouldn't get it. I once got burned on a head unit i purchased on eBay from someone who had a "0" rating... and that was for 200 bucks. And eBay claims they have the "insurance" program, but its BS.... they wouldn't give me my money back. I basically lost 200 bucks.

This is a laptop you're talking about. Just for your safety, do you want to lose a grand (or so)? I wouldn't risk it. Unless you have a high ebay rating and the user would be willing to ship it to you first and have you pay once you receive it. (someone will have to create a level of trust).

Just think that this person has never used ebay before.... and now all of a sudden they are selling a laptop.

I have done the following before, but not with things as expensive as a laptop. I would email the seller before bidding, asking him if I won, could I send him half, then have him send me the product, and then once I get it, send the rest of the money.

That worked for me.
