How do you get rid of static electricity?

I always get shocked in my home whenever I turn a light switch on or off. Or sometimes i'll get shocked by the TV or anything electronic.

How can I prevent this? I guess i need to ground myself somehow? but how? Anyone have tips on how not to get shocked?

buy a humidfire and walk around in the nude. if you must wear shoes attach a small metal chain to leak off the build up of electrons. tin foil hat is also recommend not that it does anything but it will comfort your neurotic anxieties

Yes, rubber shoes or wood sandals anything that does not pass electricity.

that doesn't work since the clothes you are wearing are the source of the static charge.

You my friend are retarded.

Yes IGK is right. Higher humidity or the other beyond wild option.... have metal chain (small) around your ankle and have part of it dragging on the floor (think of a tiny metal noose around your ankle). That way you are always grounded and no static buildup can occur.
