Classic of the day: Music Hypnotizes
4 Voice - Music Hypnotizes (Hypnotize mix)
Released in 1992, 4 Voice - Music Hypnotizes (Hypnotize mix) layed the foundations to what would become the german hard trance sound.
This was one of the first releases on Pete Namlook's label fax +49-69/450464 (the name of the label is actually the fax number to the label office!).
The 4 Voice project originally consisted of Pete Namlook himself and Maik Maurice (from Resistance D) but then became Pete's solo project.
Music Hypnotizes was way before it's time and as with the other well known 4 Voice tune, Eternal Spirit, it was heavily copied. To such extent that Pete Namlook shortly after totally abandoned the trance sound. That is why the trance releases are only common during the labels early years.
As with most FAX-releases this one is very very hard to find since it was pressed in 500 copies only. Rare copies has gone for ridiculous sums on ebay.
Another thing to note on the FAX-releases is the colour of the vinyls. The color of the label indicates the style: yellow=trance, orange=breakbeat, red=clubhouse, black=hardcore, blue=ambient, aquamarine=jazz, green=house. In the case where the label is one color and there are different color spheres over the label, it is a "crossover" style. For example, if the label is yellow with green spheres over it, then it is a crossover between trance and house.
