Tiesto Central Eastern European Tour 2005
First I'd like to say hi to everyone cause I'm new here!
After my disappointment in Tiesto I just had to write my review on his set in Zagreb.
There I was, preparing for (as I thought) one of the best parties I've been to so far, after hearing for Tiesto's tour which inclouded Croatia's capital Zagreb on Dec 16th 2005. Everyone thought it would be the party of the year with line up: DJ Le Blanc, DJ Tiesto, DJ Lucca and DJ Go Cut. First, the price of the tickets made the Zagreb Fair's Pavillion 1 half empty which was first thing that surprised me. But ok, after all it's Tiesto, and we were sure it will be a set to remember, and something worth seeing. The whole organistion was bad, but sound quality was the greatest disaster of all. Another thing that surprised me was Tiesto's ego and his 'I'm the best' attitude, but I guess fame does that to people.
As for the set itself, it was mediocre, nothing special. Everyone expected more from 'one of the best DJ's ' as he described himself in one of the interviews. But the great DJ Tiesto has put on a lot of effort in giving us mixed set from CD and inserting a couple of echo effects in it.
Sadly, but I guess the time has come when music itself is less apprechiated, and people go to these events because of the DJ line up and fancy names. I was one of those people this time but I think I've learned my lesson.
Anyway, not to stomp on Tiesto so much, there are a few of his earlier tracks and sets that I find ok, but he's just not what he used to be.
I apologize if I've offended any Tiesto's fans but it's just my opinion, as well as almost everyone who attended this event, and you don't have to agree with it. I'd like to hear what the rest of you think of him, cause unlike some DJ's, ( ) there are some people here who know what is real trance music, as I was able to read so far, cause I've started reading TA's forums just recently
