Reason why Mongoloid Asians evolved so differently than Caucasian Europeans:Is there?
The reason why I'm curious is because, as far as I rememeber, when our ancestors decided to leave Africa toward new lands, they went to Europe and Asia. Both fluxes (?) found a new problem: the cold weather. While Europeans got lighter skin colours, lighter eye colours (I don't know how to explain the reasons in English, but I'm sure you guys remember why it happened) and straight hair, Asians got double lidded eyes (so it was easier to face the snow storms they went through, not to mention the visual accuity was enhanced so they could see further in the snow)... and straight hair.
All these changes came from the same factor: the cold. I don't understand one thing though: is there any logical explanation why the Mongoloid people isn't blond (which would be a good adaption), and why Caucasian people haven't got double lidded eyes? Did the enviroment have any impact on this or it didn't happen due to "lack of chances/mathematic probability"?
I mean, if both populations had got blond straight hair, blue/green double lidded eyes, wouldn't it be better for both?

I can sort of see where you're coming from; maybe because of the geographical composition of European plains, it was more hospitable to live in caves or in places where distanced eye sight and visual accuity were not as critical traits? Exposure to the sun, i.e. there would be more of it in the far east could account for the necessity for extra-lidded eyes, and not solely stemming from cold. Exposure to sun could influence hair color too, I imagine, although I'm not sure of the bio-chemical reasons as to why.

i think that Perfect Cheezit is probably correct. it has to do with exposure to climate...the body will adapt to its environment over a long enough time period...

There's a joke with rice and Asians' eyes, but if I wrote it (instead of showing it in person) it would sound even lamer

So, why didn't their hair/eye colour change if it would be an advantage in such snowy/icy enviroment? Is there a reason?
Wouldn't it be better because of the suns radiation reflected by the snow/ice?

well i don't have exact reasons for you, but i would reason something like this.
Lighter color eyes reflect a greater portion of sunlight than darker colored eyes. therefore the culture developing lighter color eyes is probably under a higher intensity from the sun?
or maybe its the other way around but i think its something like that?

Now add in how native americans (from the northern and southern continent) look.
I think the much more mild climate of Europe has to do with it, and the fact that they were not nearly as nomadic as the mongoloid people were.
Native Americans came from Asia via the bering straight (alaska area). So the dark skin/hair/eyes I guess are kinda similar to the asian population. They might have developed / adapted their own unique features due to the various conditions in the new world (Freezing Temps in N. Canada, Rocky Mountains, etc, etc.).
WTF am I writing? This sounds like a book report!

I don't think all humans directly evolved from the same ancestors. That's why we're so different.
I think the Asian origin theory is more valid than the African origin theory.

Interesting thread, I've thought about this too.
In Scandinavia the climate is cold but alot of people are blonde with blue eyes. But if you go south people have darker hair and eyes. Strange thing is that it only seem to be like this in Northern Europe. I mean, its not like Eskimos have blue eyes and blond hair, they look more asian. I can't understand the reason for this. I'm not saying that there arent people in other places with these features, just that it is more common.
I've heard that blue eyes are the most sensitive to the sun, so it would make sense that the cold climate with alot of darkness during the winter would be the reason for this.
