Maybe overkill for those smaller monitors though. I have a pair I got at Toews Music (they probably have a store in your city) for about $110 Cdn a pair. The really good ones are steel and more expensive, have a crank-up height adjuster. But for speakers under 50 lb the aluminum ones are perfect. They're lightweight & quickly fold up into a compact size, adjustable about 3.5 to 6 feet high.
A cat jumping on top of the speaker would not cause the stand to fall over. Unless it's a really really big cat.
BTW how do the KRKs sound?

Thanks for the reply. They have a pad on the bottom of each monitor, to counter vibrations and that type of thing. I'll take a closer look at home to see if maybe there is a mounting hole underneath that pad... but I doubt it.
So for these aluminum stands, you must have the 3/8" hole to make use of them? hmm othet than that, they sound pretty ideal for my small speakers...
My cat has broken so much stuff, he'd definitely knock one of my monitors off a stand eventually.. unless it was attached to the stand in some way. He's not too big, he just bounces off of everything.
The rp5's are great for mixing. I live in an apartment, and these speakers are plenty loud for me. I can't push them past 1/3 gain at my place because they are too lound. They sound super clean, and the bass response is impressive. I don't produce... but I'd reccomend these monitors to anyone in a similar situation as myself. It's night and day when compared to my old bookshelfs!
