Official 2005-06 NCAA Basketball thread

i am surprised no one has started this thread yet, and we're almost a month into the college basketball season ... hahhaa ...

i guess the heisman anticipation took all the glory out of basketball right now ...

but got some good stuff going down right now ...

- kentucky, which was picked to be a powerhouse team this year, is struggling and got their asses handed on a platter by indiana today .

- duke proves to be the team to beat after handing a butt whooping to texas today .

- louisville is looking real good, with the return of taquan dean . i think this guy is going to be a really good player when he gets to the nba. he has a nice stroke to his jumper.

-j.j. redick proved today that on a good day, you cant stop the guy . i think he can be a good NBA player, if he puts a couple of more pounds on him, because at 6'4" 190 he is going to get mauled in the paint . i think since redick is such a great free throw shooter, he should drive to the basket more, rather than pop 3's all the time. then again, his free throw accuracy and amount of 3's he makes is scary. one thing i am concerned with is his rebounds and assists averages . not pretty.

-uConn is looking real good with a couple of returning players .

-and how about that last second heave by dockery (duke) to end v tech's upset bid last week (sorry v tech fans ... just not your night that night )

yeah man i would be happy for him. we were in the same school for like 10 or 11 years, not in the same classroom but we shared the sports class in 98/99/2000. we both came to canada the same year.

ever since he was a kid he was obsessed with basketball, his father and uncles used to play for the biggest local teams and also the national team, that's where his passion came from.

My Jayhawks are in a rebuilding year so it's a bit tough to watch. Next year, we should have a competitive team, but I still hope we don't have to go thru the NIT this year and sneak our way into the NCAA tourney.

My other fav team is Louisville. Sad that Frankie Garcia went to the NBA (and the KINGS, no less.. ugh!) but Taquan Dean and Palacios are two great players and I know they can do some damage in the tourney. All I have to say is BEAT KENTUCKY!!!

I know it's womens basketball but #3 LSU is coming into town tonight to take on the #4 Lady Buckeyes. We're missing our starting guard, but I think well still be able to give them a game...

well as long as lsu has augustus , the best women's college basketball player right now, and fowles, who is considered the women's shaquille o'neal, because she physically dominates the paint, and makes her opponents her bitches, then lsu is going to go far ..
