A Little Tiesto for Figure Skating

Kudos to Bryce Davison for introducing something a little different to the Canadian Figure Skating Championships. Davison skated to a hybrid of William Orbit and Tiesto's versions of Adagio For Strings in the Men's singles event last night... His performance was well down the standings - but it was cool to hear something different. Even my girlfriend picked up on it - and she isn't a trance fan!

i hate the Tiesto remix of that song .. that build up part sounds so irritating .. felt the original was a lot better

lemme know when someone drops Champion Sound during a figure skating championship .. BOH!

Can't decide what I dislike more... the Tiesto version of that track or having to watch ice skating...definitely ice skating. Nice to see someone thinking outside of traditional skating box though.

Corsten's old remix > Tiesto's remix

but I think it's cool to bring some new tunes to the sport...good for him!

I think you're both fucking crazy. William Orbit's version of the track is SO SO SOOOOO MUCH LESS FULLFILLING than Tiesto's version.

There is NO QUESTION about that (in my mind).

Everytime I hear William Orbit's - Samuel Baber's Adagio for Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix) dropped by a DJ, I wish that he or she had played the better version -- Tiesto - Adagio for Strings!

William Orbits production simply doesn't build as nicely if you ask me.

Jem

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings was wrote as the second movement of a string quartet in 1936, but within two years Samuel arranged it for string orchestra. In this form, it became not only his most popular work, but also an unofficial American anthem of mourning, played after the deaths of Presidents Roosevelt and Kennedy.
