In addition to throttling user downloads, Rogers is implementing a price hike starting March 1/06:
UltraLite & Lite increased by $5
Express increased by $2
Extreme increased by $2 (for those who don't pay $46.95 already)
Cable Television increased by $2-$5
It is time to switch to satellite and another ISP......

Oh this is great, my family is going to be immensely happy, having shelled out for the Hi-Speed Ultra internet, and now goddamn HDTV horseshit from them.

thankfully I've been able to ditch Rogers for net access...but I rec'd the '$6 bundle increase' notice in the mail this week for digital cable
I'm sick of them...anyone have ExpressVu that can offer a comparison re: service/channels? Pricing seems comparable and my building is pre-wired for it, so no dish needed.

When I worked for Rogers, a very irate customer once said to me, "Dude, your company is the Devil." To which I replied, "yeah I know, it ain't much better on this side of the desk."
As if the bandwidth usage limits weren't bad enough, then the p2p packet throttling, and now rate hikes?

I used to work for their internet support line too... terrible job.
Anyhow, if my parents didn't rely on their rogers emails I woulda gave 'em the finger the second they started putting in those fooking traffic shapers. The thing is Sympatico ain't much better either.
I finally cancelled my rogers cell a few weeks back... ******s used to charge me 90 bux a month for the shittiest plan you could get

didn't know about the price rise , it socks! i have everything with them.
whats really anoying is that they call me every month to remind me that i have to pay my cell, i was with bell before i they never disconected me, even after 4 month without paying .. haven't changed providers 'cause i like my number, hopefully they will pass that new law that you can take you number wherever you go..
