This is an interesting idea but what exactly are you trying to prove in your thesis? That it would be potentially profitable for Air Canada (or other airline companies) to introduce this new flight class?

No, I wouldn't pay more. I hate airplane food... I hardly touch it. I can survive on chips and pop for a day... no big deal. As for the experience... I'd rather listen to my mp3 player or just watch the movie that's on if it looks interesting. More leg room would be nice but if that's gonna cost me 40% more, no thanks.

the biggest factor for me is how comfortable it is.. the changes to seating/space alone could move me to a yes, just not familiar with what you mean in terms of the spacing.. mini-bed do you mean the angled seats that fold down completely?? that i would pay more for if it was a long flight..

Unfortunatley you have 50+ years of commercial aviation trends working against you. You'd also have to specify on length of flights, destinations etc. As I think for me that would be a big factor in deciding to upgrade or not.

i posted no because i'm cheap as hell. most of us are students or just starting out.

however, this is a good idea for 35-dead ppl, middle class people. Right now i have more time then money..and would rather suffer for 24 hrs then pay

what you describe is better than most airlines business class

and 50% is a lot more - so not for me

british airways does offer a "mid class" (world traveller plus) and its a fair bit more than economy, and has nothing what you're describing.

what youre describing at 50% more than normal fare, i think is impossible. some people might be willing to pay for it. but a flight to HK is prolly $1300+ so an extra 50% makes it almost $2000 - id rather spend that $650 in HK.

Nope. With the financial position that I am in right now, I only want to spend as much as I have to for flight costs. As long as I have a working seat(once had a broken one) and food, I will be satisfied.

I think a lot of people would only be willing to travel in such 'style' if the fare is being paid for by their companies. I obviously cannot speak for everybody, but I am just trying to think of how my friends would consider the same situation.
