Luke Cartwright - Untitled (Dark Trance/Tech Trance)

In my eyes this is about 90% finished now so looking for a bit of feedback on it.

I'm the only person thats listened to it so far so would be interested to hear some peoples opinions.

Its a dark trance, tech trance type tune. Not thought of a name for it yet so its just called untitled.

Download Here

Thanks Luke

Hi,

I like this track, I love the Fred Baker stlye snares! I think it needs just a little more to it like some reverse cymbal or maybe some more vocals! If u do change it please post it on again!

Good Work!

Im not much of a tech trance person or so..but i'll give it a listen. I like your kick..nice punching power. The bass change at 1:50 or so kinda threw me off. I was like wtheck? and nice addition of those vocals clips. But it does seem a tad repititive...or is that how tech is suppose to be like lol? Anyways it sounds good..but the snare could be better. Alil more variation would be nice.

Thanks for taking the time to listen, it helps alot.

I will have a go at adding some more percussion to it, I'll see what samples I've got.

The main part I want to change is the bit before the breakdowns, I might add some reverse cymbals there.

As well I agree it is a bit repetitive I did have another vocal in there but I took that out before uploading.

Anyways I'll upload again over the weekend with an updated version

Also Final Call, how you said about the bass change around the 1.50 mark. Did you mean that you liked that part or disliked it didn't really understand that part of your post lol.

Thanks again Luke

1 - too monotonic
2 - I don't like that synth from start till end(boring)
3 - some nice percussion variation,I like snares...
4 - need some work with background sounds mix-up

overall - I think throw away this track...something missing on it,your earlier works were much better than this.

Can't say I am a huge fan.

You have some interesting percussive ideas.

As far as. Dark trance... tech trance... not sure.

Normally I'm against just ranking on other people's work. This has some potential. But even dark and tech trance has some kind of varience with synth work and patterns.

This really doesn't.

... :-/

4/10

Perhaps adding a bit more melodic varience? This needs some kind of hook for it to be appealing.

Thanks again guys.

I'm gonna change a few bits and see what happens, seems obvious that most people like the percussion so thats good.

Anyway I'll upload an updated version mabey later today or sometime tomorrow and see what you think.

Hi Luke.

I'm a fun of dark and tech tunes.

Intro it's repetitive. The synth that plays always the same note is...very boring Track is already at 2:50 and nothing speciall The only thing that I like until now is the quality of kick...Where is fxs,hihats,bass,percs.....Sorry it needs work.I'm gona put it like this:Who is your favorite artist and what are you feeling when you are listening your track indeed of him?Sorry to be so hard but without someone to tell you the truth you will never be better.Keep the mastering that is good and go on pal.Be patient.

Cheers for the advice

Yeah the track is missing a few bits was gonna add some effects at the end but now I'm gonna give it a good going over after reading everyones opinions.

I like what I've got so far so I'm gonna pursue with this for the rest of the week and if I can't do anything with it I'll start another.

There is one percussion sample I have been looking for that I think would add alot to the track but I can't find it , I'll upload a sample of it from another tune in a few minutes and see if anyone can point me in the right direction of it.

Luke

Edit: Heres a short sample of a tune I've got which has the percussion which i'm looking for, If anyone knows of a sample site or how to create this can let me know that would be great.

SAMPLE

The synth or bassline is too repetitive. You only change the key once and then return the same note throughout the whole song. Hence the monotonous comment.

The kick drum also is annoying. I thought you were going to stop after the intro and start with a steady beat, but the whole song is one big beat breakdown.

Add some effects.

Your track sounds very professional it just needs to be touched up some more and as a reference you might want to listen to

Jowan - PT 78

Your track reminds me of this one except that I love PT 78 and not this one because of the boring factor. Mind you that I'm not producer so some of the terminology may be incorrect, but as a listener I expect to enjoy the song otherwise I won't buy it.
