As I recall, most of the music from Rez is minimal and or ambient techno, although there are some psy and trance influences in there, too. I can't give you too much advice in that area other than maybe Plastikman. I don't listen to much techno really.

Well I know that the track for Area 5 contains samples from Adam Freeland's Mindkiller, which is how I got into his music.

It's a fantastic soundtrack, I love the massive build up in the music for Area 4 that climaxes as you reach the boss.
