Drinking at work
Our dev staff was called into work on a Saturday morning, so I thought it'd be appropos to dump some vodka in my juice this morning. After finishing that at my desk, I pulled out some rum and dumped a couple shots in my coffee.
Drinking at work on a Saturday makes the day slightly more tolerable. I intend to be a a little fucked by the time were done and it's time to head to the bar.
Any good drinking at work stories?

My boss smokes herb and drinks while in the office here. He doesn't like to do either by himself, and since we don't have to see many clients face to face, it works out. I'm drinking a beer as I type this at my desk

In our Dublin (that is: Dublin, Ohio) office, they have "beer Fridays". It's a smaller office of 10 - 20 people compared to the 300 person site I work at. Unfortunately, I'm usually not there late enough to benefit from this. It's an hour away from my home office. A lot more laid-back there than here.

Drinking at work used to be incredibly common.
In Benjamin Franklin's autobiography, he talks about how all of the other employees at the printer's shop where worked for a time would drink beer almost constantly, and how he was able to do so much more work than them simply by not getting drunk.

My friend works for Sam Adams as a party planner and she has a bar with taps in her office and gets a free case of any "flavor/season" with every paycheck. She cant keep up with all the beer she gets, so she brings me cases when she visits I love her.
A lot more laid-back there than here.
