........we have an increasingly large Download thread that makes us all very proud, why don't we try and expand it? I propose we have a semi-connected thread where we can all request sets that we've wanted and then have them uploaded and put in the download thread?

Just a suggestion cuz I know there if 'nuff of youz who wants them hard to find sets.

yeah i want sasha's live set from pacha on 09-05-03 have been looking for it for over two years now.

one thing about sets you have to realize is that if the set was recorded. alot of people do not understand the concept behind live sets. i am not saying any of you lovely folks here on TOTA but i am speaking as of general public. people would go to a club and hear a fantastic set and then they would run home to post on their choice of site if they can get the set. and if they dont get it 80% of the time they would throw a hissy fit about it

i agree with sunquest the smaller and more unknown we are the better it is . if the set was recorded and was released you WILL find it and if you dont find it then a) it wasnt recorded b) its not released c) you just didnt look hard enough. another concern with livesets is the tunes played by the djs that are promos and unreleased. as of late it has become a huge deal for record labels and artists to manage their promos and alot of djs dont appreciate their live sets being posted everywhere. now some of the djs are cool with it and some arent. it totally depends on the dj i guess. but i would say that staying low key and sharing between few people is all good and stuff but when you start having request threads and everyone and their mother posting what they want then you are bound to run into issues. i have seen it happen many times. and thats my 2 cents on this

Within the download thread...I had already made a post, asking if everyone would agree that you could place requests there as long as you were civil and not annoying about it. Pretty much the "rules" would be...you can request a set once, but don't hound ppl for it and post and post and post so that you annoy people to the point where they don't want to share anything.

I know there are a few sets that I would like to get. I'm not sure if they're recorded or not, so I would make a post in the thread saying "Hey...does anyone have such and such set" if someone does and they see it and they'll upload it...great...if not...ah well.

But I also agree with what Tyler said. We should keep this a more closed type deal here. This isn't a site simply to download music. But some people like to share in the wealth so that other people can enjoy the tunes as well.
