Fscked.

My dad was installing Norton Systemworks Premiere 2006 on his computer. During installation, the computer froze. Now everything is gone. EVERYTHING. I tried running recovery disk on the drive but its entirely wiped clean. Any idea what might've caused this?
I'm thinking maybe a virus on the computer detected that Norton was being installed and activated, thereby wiping the drive.

Yea never instal anti virus shit, all it does is fuck with your registry.


as far as staying away from viruses....dont' open up stupid emails, run programs you don't know, and look at better porn sites.

yes, it was my dad's computer. it was packed with so much spyware/adware and who knows what else.

ok so the whole drive is shot. it even lost its NTFS formatting and is showing up as FAT. i just installed a new drive into it and fresh install of XP, running fine now.
gonna try to run the fucked drive as a slave on my computer, see if i can access and recover anything.
