Some assholes are suing me for money they think i owe them (which i really don't), and i have a court date with them on Thursday. However, i have some business in Vancouver that requires me to be there on that same day. Is there any way to postpone the hearing (using that, or some other excuse)?

You can request for the date to be postponed or scheduled to another date.

Whether the judge allows for such is a different question.

postponement is usually done in court. The request for another trial date is usually done before appearing.

err do you have a lawyer or did you plan on representing yourself?

If it is the latter (it would explain you asking your legal advice) I'd advize maybe getting one since this business of yours is "taking" off.
