anyone know if it is possible to record onto ableton with two cdjs and a two channel mixer? let me try rewording...is it possible to be using two cdjs on a two channel mixer and just record what is happening onto ableton (not running any audio from ableton, just recording what is happening on the mixer)?

Shouldn't be a problem. You just have to select an audio track, arm it, and then click the record and play buttons in the transport window at the top. Make sure your sound card is configured properly to take the audio INput and send it through to the Audio Track you ARMed.
once you arm the audio track you should be able to hear the CDJ's come through your speakers, if you can't then Ableton isn't getting the signal.
Hope that helps

I have the manual, and I have read a lot of it, but I can't find any specifics in it(on this topic). also, I know how to arm a track, but how do you choose a track to play incoming audio? are there just arbitrary tracks that you can use??

Also, if you just want to record a mix. Try using Audacity.. it's free and it works great.
